“Flying Lessons” is a comedy drama about Pamela in the three weekends before her 58th birthday, set mainly in her Suffolk flat. She dedicates much time to her family but begins to see how she’s been overlooked and taken for granted, including by her ex-husband. By the end, she decides to live for herself and “fly.”
The play mixes comedy and farce, highlighted by a faulty door latch causing unannounced visits.
