Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra: A Life In Music

Theatre shows Suffolk classical music

The Story of Imogen Holst told in her own words and music – performed by musicians of the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra.

Devised by Tim Welton.

Composer-Conductor-Educator and one of Britain’s unsung musical heroines, daughter of Gustav Holst, Imogen Holst lived in Aldeburgh for most of her life – as the amanuensis to Benjamin Britten, she became confidante, sounding block, orchestrator and scribe for Britten as well as a festival organiser with Britten and Peter Pears until her retirement – and even after.

This is a joint fundraising event in aid of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds (no. 242977) and the Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra.
