Trianon: A Musical Gift Unwrapped

Trianon Choir and Symphony Orchestra opens its 2026 season with a concert celebrating the life and musical legacy of co-founder Chris Green OBE.

The evening starts with three pieces commissioned by Trianon to mark milestones in the group’s life, with music by Carl Davis, Ronald Corp and Matthew Curtis. We then perform a sequence of music by English composers important to Chris, including Edward Elgar’s Nimrod from his Enigma Variations, and Ralph Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music for which we will be joined by four renowned soloists who are known and loved by Trianon audiences.

The second half features music which many will recognise from film, stage or screen including John Williams Hook: Flight to Neverland, Andrew Lloyd-Webber Memory from the musical Cats, and Howard Goodall’s setting of Psalm 23 which featured in the Vicar of Dibley. The concert finishes with a medley written for Chris by Andrew Burke, weaving together pieces from each decade of Trianon’s 60+ years.
