Suffolk theatre company announces three upcoming shows

Theatre shows Suffolk 2026

CRE8 Theatre Productions has announced three upcoming shows, all to be performed at Suffolk theatres in the next few months.

First up…

CRE8tion: Volume 1 - A Musical Theatre Showcase will take place at Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday, April 12 at 7pm.

This will be an evening celebrating musical theatre and local talent. With an adult and child ensemble of performers, this annual showcase will bring songs, scenes and dances from hit shows such as Wicked, Matilda, Legally Blonde and many more.

With a mix of musicals old and new, there is something for everyone in this show.

Next…

Their second production will be ‘Stuff’ - Tom Wells’s play about friendship and loss, and the way people try to do the right thing for their mates when there isn’t really a right thing to do!

This will be on stage at Gallery Studio Theatre in Ipswich on Saturday, June 6 at 7.45pm.

To outline the story: Vinny’s organising a surprise birthday party for his mate, Anita. It’s not going well! His choice of venue is a bit misguided, Anita’s not keen on leaving the house and everyone else has their own stuff going on.

Maybe a surprise party wasn’t the best idea?

It is worth noting that CRE8 did this production in November 2025 and the company has now been nominated by NODA for Best Drama in our district.

Tickets will be on sale soon.

Finally…

They will also be performing Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’ at Hayworth Theatre in Ipswich High School.

Matilda lives with her parents and older brother who overlook her hyper-intelligence, wit and, later, her powers. Bullied by the tyrannical headmistress, Agatha Trunchbull, Matilda finds refuge in books and stories, empowered by her librarian, Mrs Phelps and kind teacher, Miss Honey. Using her intellect and strong willpower, Matilda fights against the oppressive adults in her world with the help of her friends.

The CRE8 team has been working with the students from Ipswich High School’s Musical Theatre Academy to put together this special young people’s stage adaptation of the show, which will be performed on Saturday, June 27 at 4pm.

CRE8 was founded in May 2022 by actor, singer and director, Dan Moore, with the aim of delivering classes, workshops and performance opportunities to people in Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding areas of Suffolk.

Today, the Community Interest Company engages with children, young people and adults across the county, with the long-term goal of providing funded places for participants where possible, as well as making the arts accessible to children and adults with physical disabilities and additional learning requirements.
